Sun and Sand for Teens at Sauble Beach

Looking for an ideal beach day for your teens, those who have progressed beyond sand-castle building or throwing water onto a snoozing dad?Look no further than Lake Huron’s beautiful Sauble Beach, about a three-hour drive from the GTA.

Not only can teens be part of the beach scene here, but they will find enough activities to tempt their interests and satisfy thrill-seeking proclivities—from the aerial park with its 40-foot free fall experience to surfing waves on a boogie board. Yes, Sauble Beach town can be somewhat tacky, with its surf shops, its Mexican -inspired taco truck (with a skeleton driver), its cardboard cutouts—and enough jewelry in the shops to glitter-up any bathing outfit. But that’s part of the fun. And always, the spectacular stretch of white sand beckons.

Note: for families with pets, no dogs on the beach from May 1 to Sept. 3.
